In July of this year the Los Angeles Fire Department now requires a Pre Approval Form for Church and School walk through's. Any Production companies who are assigned a walk through now have to have a approval form. The inspection for the school and church locations has to be done 48 "business" hours in advance for an inspection, that is inspected by a Film Unit Inspector. This to me is just a pretty big waste of time. Why can't they just film their without a Pre Approval, other locations don't need them so why do Churches and Schools do?  Though recently fires have been recorded to mostly school's and Churches this year. So I am a 50/50 on this decision, it seems like an OK idea but the delay is just too much. A lot of Filming teams want to film their movies as soon as possible, I can understand the safety of the crew and other things but it's still a bit odd on why they would do this. It affects us because it takes a longer time to get into production of the film and it will get some things done.
